A quick visit to the fields before take Pam and John back to Malaga Airport.
Ebird List for the Fields.
Some of the 16 Little Bustard (Sisón Común / Tetrax tetrax). |
John and I popped down for a brief visit to the fields to se if we could get John better views of the Little Bustards (Sisón Común / Tetrax tetrax) we had seen yesterday and we were successful.
16 birds was 1 up on last years best count but pitifully low compared to the 280 birds that used to winter in the area 15 years ago.
Other species seen included European Turtle Dove (Tórtola Europea / Streptopelia turtur), Eurasian Hoopoe (Abubilla Común / Upupa epops), Common Kestrel (Cernicalo Vulgar / Falco tinnunculus), Cetti's Warbler (Cetia Ruiseñor / Cettia cetti), Common Waxbill (Estrilda Ondulada / Estrilda astrild), Grey (Lavandera Cascadena / Motacilla cinerea) and Spanish (Yellow) Wagtail (Lavandera Boyera / Motacilla flava iberiae) and Corn Bunting (Escribano Triguero / Emberiza calandra).
We returned to the house, loaded the car and then went down to Huétor for breakfast and on to Malaga Airport where I said Goodbye to Pam and John after a really nice 10 days in their company.
I returned home and got on with a few tasks before spending some time on the laptop catching up with the blog.
