A wet day down on the coast and at home.

The Rio Genil.

Jayne and I traveled down to Malaga airport to take Martin her brother back to catch his flight back to the UK after his visit. We had a dodgy drive down in some not to nice weather which did not improve all day, how ever after dropping Martin off we headed to Fuengirola to get some paint and have some lunch in the shopping center.

The Rio Genil.

I took a wrong turn and we ended up on the coastal motorway heading west so I turned at the next exit which meant we came
back past the sea watch hide at El Faro and whilst driving I saw several
Great Cormorants (Cormorán Grande / Phalacrocroax carbo),
Black-headed (Gaviota Riedora / Larus ridibundus),
Yellow-legged (Gaviota Patiamarilla / Larus Michahellis) and
Lesser Black-backed Gulls (Gaviota Sombria / Larus fuscus) and a single
Great Skua (Págalo Grande / Stercorarius skua) which was getting a battering from the wind close in shore.

The Barranco at the back of the house.

As we drove back home we went through Loja and just by the river I picked up a single Pallid Swift (Vencejo Pálido /Apus pallidus) which was new for the year. We went across country to Huétor and made a stop by the Rio Genil to see how high the water was and it was well up after the rains as was the Barranco at the back of the house.
