Contraembalse de Bermejalis and Huétor Fields, Granada Province, Spain.

A quick check on the Cacín Valley and then nearer to home after getting a few Logs.
Ebird List for the Contraembalse de Bermejalis.
Ebird List for Huétor Fields.

I started the day thinking it was going to be a bit dryer and as it was forecast to rain in biblical proportions tomorrow I decided to pop down the Cacín Valley but the weather for today was definitely wrong.
I arrived at the Embalse and scanned the Mud as that's pretty much all that is now left as the water is being drained as the water people intend on dredging it at some point, hope it's before the breeding season.
As I stood in the mud I recorded Mallard (Anade Azulón / Anas platyrhynchos), Eurasian Teal (Cerceta Común / Anas crecca), Common Pochard (Porrón Europeo / Aythya ferina), Red-legged Partridge (Perdiz Roja / Alectoris rufa), Green Sandpiper (Andarrios Grande / Tringa ochropus), Western Marsh Harrier (Aguilucho Lagunero Occidental / Circus aeruginosus), Common Kestrel (Cernicalo Vulgar / Falco tinnunculus), Iberian Grey Shrike (Alcaudón Real / Lanius meridionalis), Great Tit (Carbonera Común / Parus major), Cetti's Warbler (Cetia Ruiseñor / Cettia cetti), Sardinian Warbler (Curruca Cabecinegra / Curruca melanocephala), Song Thrush (Zorzal Común / Turdus philomelos), Common Blackbird (Mirlo Común / Turdus merula), European Stonechat (Tarabilla Europea / Saxicola rubicola) and Rabbit (Conejo / Oryctolagus cuniculus).
As it started to rain again I made my way back up to the Motorway and then to the wood yard at Bobadilla where whilst I was filling the car I saw a flock of the Monk Parakeet (Cotorra Argentina / Myiopsitta monachus) from the colony nearby.
The rain / snow up on Sierra Loja.
I headed back down the Motorway to the house but just threw the logs out onto the drive as it was heaving it down with rain when I got there, it eased of later so I stacked the Logs and then went down to check the fields, but again the rain cut this short.
The bum end of a disappearing Eurasian Sparrowhawk (Gavilán Común / Accipiter nisus).
Eurasian Tree Sparrows (Gorrión Molinero / Passer montanus).
I did see
Little Bustard (Sisón Común / Tetrax tetrax) x5, Eurasian Stone Curlew (Alcaraván Común / Burhinus oedicnemus) x2, Western Cattle Egret (Garcilla Bueyera / Bubulcus ibis), Grey Heron (Garza Real / Ardea cinerea), Black-winged Kite (Elanio Común / Elanus caeruleus), Eurasian Sparrowhawk (Gavilán Común / Accipiter nisus), Common Kestrel (Cernicalo Vulgar / Falco tinnunculus), Little Owl (Mochuelo Europeo / Athene noctua), Iberian (Rabilargo Ibérico / Cyanopica cooki) and Eurasian Magpie (Urraca Común / Pica pica), Eurasian Skylark (Alondra Común / Alauda arvensis) and Crested Lark (Cogujada Común / Galerida cristata), Common (Estornino Pinto / Sturnus vulgaris) and Spotless Starling (Estornino Negro / Sturnus unicolor), Common Blackbird (Mirlo Común / Turdus merula), European Stonechat (Tarabilla Europea / Saxicola rubicola), a big flock of Common Waxbill (Estrilda Ondulada / Estrilda astrild), House (Gorrión Común / Passer domesticus) and Eurasian Tree Sparrow (Gorrión Molinero / Passer montanus), White Wagtail (Lavandera Blanca / Montacilla alba), Meadow Pipit (Bisbita Pratense / Anthus pratensis), Common Linnet (Pardillo Común / Linaria cannabina), White Wallrocket (Diplotaxis erucoides) and Field Marigold (Calendula arvensis) before I headed home.
