Rio Genil west, Huétor Tajar, Granada Province, Spain.

Getting a long needed job done before some birding with friend Juan Perez.

Little Owl (Mochuelo Europeo / Athene noctua).
I have wanted to get a lintel put in above my Chimney for a long time now but getting a builder for a small job is near impossible but friend Charlie who used to do some jobs for us when he lived near came up and did a very smart job for me this morning.
Once he finished I cleaned up and then went for a walk with Friend Juan Perez along the western side of the Rio Genil from the Huétor Bridge. 
Common Woodpigeon (Paloma Torcaz / Columba palumbus).
On my way down I saw the usual Little Owl (Mochuelo Europeo / Athene noctua) pair, We parked and walked out as far as the service area and then back, interesting species were Iberian (Mosquitero Ibérico / Phylloscopus ibericus) and Common Chiffchaff (Mosquitero Común / Phylloscopus collybita), Common Buzzard (Busardo Ratonero / Buteo buteo), Common Moorhen (Gallineta Común / Gallinulas chloropus), Great Spotted Woodpecker (Pico Picapinos / Dendrocopos major), Eurasian Blue (Herrerillo Común / Cyanistes caeruleus) and Great Tit (Carbonera Común / Parus major), Zitting Cisticola (Cistícola Buitrón / Cisticola juncidis), Western House (Avión Común Occidental / Delichon urbicum) and Sand Martin (Avión Zapador / Riparia riparia), Barn (Golondrina Común / Hirundo rustica) and Red-rumped Swallow (Golondrina Dáurica / Cecropis daurica), Cetti's (Cetia Ruiseñor / Cettia cetti) and Sardinian Warbler (Curruca Cabecinegra / Curruca melanocephala), Long-tailed Tit (Mito Común / Aegithalos caudatus), Eurasian Wren (Chochin paleártico / Troglodytes troglodytes), Eurasian Blackcap (Curruca Capirotada / Curruca capirotada), Black Redstart (Colirrojo Tizón / Phoenicurus ochruros) and Grey Wagtail (Lavandera Cascadena / Motacilla cinerea).
Red Admiral (Vanessa atalanta).
Other species included Stripe-necked Terrapin (Mauremys leprosa) and Perez's Frog (Rana Común / Pelophylax perezi) as well some Butterflies which took advantage of this brief break in the rain and were on the wing in good numbers including Clouded Yellow (Colias croceus) x8, Painted Lady (Vanessa cardui) x1, Red Admiral (Vanessa atalanta) x5, Speckled Wood (Pararge aegeria) x2, Small (Pieris rapae) x30+, Green-Striped (Euchloe belemia) x1 and Western Dappled White (Euchloe crameri) x5+.
We returned to the car and I said goodbye to Juan and Chika before heading home to finish the tidying up whilst watching the Wolves before friend Dave Grundy arrived later in the evening and we went down to 3 Calles for some food ad a drink.
