Laguna Amarga, Fuente de Piedra and Arroyo de Lucena in Malaga Province and Laguna de Regidor in Granada Province, Spain.

We headed out to the West and then North up to Laguna Amarga where after parking we walked into the reserve where we checked with a warden type guy about access to any areas where we might see some Dragonflies so we were rather disappointed to find out that it was not possible as we could only view the water from some rather badly located view points.
We walked up the hill and scanned the first of the two pools where we saw Mallard (Anade Azulón / Anas platyrhynchos), Common Pochard (Porrón Europeo / Aythya ferina), Common Moorhen (Gallineta Común / Gallinulas chloropus), Eurasian Coot (Focha Común / Fulica atra), Little (Zampullín Común / Tachybaptus ruficollis) and Black-necked Grebe (Zampullín Cuellinegro / Podiceps nigricollis)Black-winged Stilt (Ciguenuela Común / Himantopus himantopus), Little Ringed Plover (Chorlitejo Chico / Thinornis dubius), Gull-billed Tern (Pagaza Piconegra / Gelochelidon nilotica), Greater Flamingo (Flamenco Común / Phoenicopterus roseus), Common Buzzard (Busardo Ratonero / Buteo buteo), European Bee-eater (Abejaruco Europeo / Merops apiaster), Woodchat Shrike (Alcaudón Común / Lanius senator), Iberian Magpie (Rabilargo Ibérico / Cyanopica cooki), Barn (Golondrina Común / Hirundo rustica) and Red-rumped Swallow (Golondrina Dáurica / Cecropis daurica), Western House Martin (Avión Común Occidental / Delichon urbicum), Sardinian Warbler (Curruca Cabecinegra / Curruca melanocephala), Spotless Starling (Estornino Negro / Sturnus unicolor), Common Blackbird (Mirlo Común / Turdus merula), Common Nightingale (Ruisenor Común / Luscinia megarhynchos), Common Chaffinch (Pinzón Vulgar / Fringilla coelebs)European Greenfinch (Verderón Común / Chloris chloris), European Goldfinch (Jilguero Europeo / Carduelis carduelis), European Serin (Serin Verdecillo / Serinus serinus) and Corn Bunting (Escribano Triguero / Emberiza calandra).

Whilst there we did find a couple of Black-tailed Skimmers (Orthetrum cancellatum) x2♂1♀ as well as Small White (Pieris rapae) x9, Clouded Yellow (Colias croceus) x3, Painted Lady (Vanessa cardui) x12, Rabbit (Conejo / Oryctolagus cuniculus), Centaurium grandiflorumSquirting Cucumber (Ecballium elaterium), Cornflower (Centaurea cyanus) and Staehelina dubia.

We returned to the car and headed to Fuente de Piedra where after parking we checked the roadside pool and then walked around to the boardwalk along the back track and then up to the Mirador, species seen included Kentish Plover (Chorlitejo Patinegro / Anarhynchus alexandrinus), Pied Avocet (Avoceta Común / Recurvirostra avosetta), Black-winged StiltBlack-headed Gull (Gaviota Reidora / Chroicocephalus ridibundus), Gull-billed TernGreater Flamingo (Flamenco Común / Phoenicopterus roseus), Barn SwallowWestern House MartinWestern Jackdaw (Grajilla occidental / Corvus monedula), Woodchat Shrike (Alcaudón Común / Lanius senator), Crested Lark (Cogujada Común / Galerida cristata), Western Olivaceous (Zarcero bereber / Iduna opaca), Cetti's (Cetia Ruiseñor / Cettia cetti) and Common Reed Warbler (Carricero Común / Acrocephalus scrpaceus), Zitting Cisticola (Cistícola Buitrón / Cisticola juncidis), Common Blackbird, European Serin, European Goldfinch (Jilguero Europeo / Carduelis carduelis), Great Green-bush Cricket (Tettigonia viridissima) x1, Perez's Frog (Rana Común / Pelophylax perezi), Dark Spreadwing (Lestes macrostigma) x6♂ and Red-veined Darter (Sympetrum fonscolombii) x3.

We moved on again heading to another of Steve's pins which we were checking through, we stopped on a roadside and checked out a deep gully, we could see dragons, unfortunately it was impossible to climb down to the water so we only managed to Identify Orange-winged Dropwing (Trithemis kirbyi) x3♂1♀, Small White x4, Clouded Yellow x1, Painted Lady x6, Perez's Frog and a couple of European Bee-eaters.

At another spot along the same arroyo a bit further to the east we had a walk-up stream finding

When we reached Huétor we decided to check out Balsa de Regidor so we continued on along the A92 for a couple of junctions, after parking we had a look around finding
