Out hunting for and Electrician and a bit of birding along the way.
Ebird List for the Fields.
 |
Northern Wheatear (Collalba Gris / Oenanthe oenanthe) Male. |
Dave had to be up and off early as he had his moths to sort in Sierra Nevada before heading down to CIMA (Centro Internacional de Migración de Aves) where he will be based for most of his stay.
 |
Black-winged Kites (Elanio Común / Elanus caeruleus) and a mobbing Eurasian Magpie (Urraca Común / Pica pica). |
After seeing him off I got on with some house work and the stared the hunt for someone to come and sort the electrics out but failed miserably so I decided to go for a walk along the Lucerne fields, as I was about to reach the Walnut trees a couple of white rumped birds flew up from the roadside so I stopped and checked them expecting them to be
Western Black-eared Wheatears (Collalba Rubia Occidental / Oenanthe hispanica) as I had seen a couple the day before near Baza but through the Bin's I could see that they were both very handsome looking male Northern's (Collalba Gris / Oenanthe oenanthe) a year tick. |
Corn Bunting (Escribano Triguero / Emberiza calandra). |
I continued on and parked and did just a short walk along the road towards my usual parking but the weather soon turned nasty and forced me back to the car but not before I saw Little Bustards (Sisón Común / Tetrax tetrax), Black-winged Kite (Elanio Común / Elanus caeruleus) x2, Montagu's Harriers (Aguilucho Cenizo / Circus pygargus) x3, Common Woodpigeon (Paloma Torcaz / Columba palumbus),
Woodchat Shrike (Alcaudón Común / Lanius senator),
Eurasian Hoopoe (Abubilla Común / Upupa epops), Zitting Cisticola (Cistícola Buitrón / Cisticola juncidis), Common Linnet (Pardillo Común / Linaria cannabina), Corn Bunting (Escribano Triguero / Emberiza calandra) and
Small White (
Pieris rapae) x3.

Corn Bunting (Escribano Triguero / Emberiza calandra). |
I returned to the house and waited for Charlie to come up and finish the fire place off which he did and whilst he was there I showed him the fuse box before he headed off, 10 minutes later he was back with an electrician he found at a house lower down the road.
 |
The worst of the Fuses. |
The guy came up and changed two fuse and rewired most of the wiring in the box, more work than I had expected him to do so I expecting quite a large bill, so I was over the moon when he said €40, a good result in the end.
