Up the City for an appointment and then Orchids and Birds on the way Home.

Great Spotted Cuckoo (Crialo Europeo / Clamator gladarius).

I started the day by heading up to Granada for an appointment and then made my way home via an Orchid site near Moraleda, on the way in to the site on a rough track I picked up a smart looking Great Spotted Cuckoo (Crialo Europeo / Clamator gladarius), Grey Wagtail (Lavandera Cascadena / Motacilla cinerea), Western Jackdaw (Grajilla occidental / Corvus monedula), Common Buzzard (Busardo Ratonero / Buteo buteo) and Somber Bee Orchid (Ophrys fusca lupercalis) x45 spikes.

At the Orchid spot I found Fan-lipped (Anacamptis collina) x11 and Bumble-bee Orchids (Ophrys bombyliflora) x15 in flower but there were many more in bud.

I left the site and headed back to the patch and had a walk along the Lucerne Fields seeing Black-winged Kite (Elanio Común / Elanus caeruleus) x2, Montagu's (Aguilucho Cenizo / Circus pygargus) x3 and Western Marsh Harrier (Aguilucho Lagunero Occidental / Circus aeruginosus) male, a calling Common Quail (Codorniz Común / Coturnix coturnix), Eurasian Stone Curlew (Alcaraván Común / Burhinus oedicnemus), Green Sandpiper (Andarrios Grande / Tringa ochropus), Woodchat Shrike (Alcaudón Común / Lanius senator), Iberian  Magpie (Rabilargo Ibérico / Cyanopica cooki), Eurasian Skylark (Alondra Común / Alauda arvensis), Zitting Cisticola (Cistícola Buitrón / Cisticola juncidis), Barn Swallow (Golondrina Común / Hirundo rustica), Cetti's Warbler (Cetia Ruiseñor / Cettia cetti), Grey (Lavandera Cascadena / Motacilla cinerea), White (Lavandera Blanca / Montacilla alba) and Spanish (Yellow) Wagtail (Lavandera Boyera / Motacilla flava iberiae), Meadow Pipit (Bisbita Pratense / Anthus pratensis), Common Waxbill (Estrilda Ondulada / Estrilda astrild) and Corn Bunting (Escribano Triguero / Emberiza calandra).

Western Marsh Harrier (Aguilucho Lagunero Occidental / Circus aeruginosus) and nervous looking Spanish (Yellow) Wagtail (Lavandera Boyera / Motacilla flava iberiae).

Other species included Perez's Frog (Rana Común / Pelophylax perezi), Rabbit (Conejo / Oryctolagus cuniculus) and Small White (Pieris rapae).
