Rio Genil, East of the Bridge and Huétor Fields, Granada Province, Spain.

A mornings walk along the Genil, a nice Menu del Dia and an evening walk along the Lucerne Fields.

A misty sun through the Poplars.
I started the day with a quick look at the Town Fields where I saw 15 Little Bustards (Sisón Común / Tetrax tetrax) and a good number of Eurasian Stone Curlews (Alcaraván Común / Burhinus oedicnemus).

From there it was breakfast in Combustibles Gómez Bar and then on to the Mechanic's to book it in to have the back bumper put back on properly after a small amount of stupidity by me on Friday during an attempt to cross the Arroyo Vilano 😕😕😕.

On my way back to Huétor I parked by the Rio Genil and walked upstream / East through the fog which cleared after a while.

As I walked I saw lots of  Common Chiffchaffs (Mosquitero Común / Phylloscopus collybita) including quite a few singing birds, Grey Heron (Garza Real / Ardea cinerea), domestic type Greylag Geese (Ansar Común / Anser anser) and Mallards (Anade Azulón / Anas platyrhynchos), Muscovy Ducks (Pato criollo / Cairina moschata) and some more wild looking Mallards.
Common Buzzard (Busardo Ratonero / Buteo buteo) and Black Redstart (Colirrojo Tizón / Phoenicurus ochruros) in the fog.

Also seen were Eurasian Collared Dove (Tórtola Turca / Streptopelia decaocto), Common Woodpigeon (Paloma Torcaz / Columba palumbus), Feral Pigeon (Paloma Bravía / Columba livia), Iberian  Magpie (Rabilargo Ibérico / Cyanopica cooki), Eurasian Blackcap (Curruca Capirotada / Curruca capirotada), Cetti's (Cetia Ruiseñor / Cettia cetti) and Dartford Warbler (Curruca Rabilarga / Curruca undata), Eurasian Blue (Herrerillo Común / Cyanistes caeruleus), Great (Carbonera Común / Parus major) and Long-tailed Tits (Mito Común / Aegithalos caudatus), Common Chaffinch (Pinzón Vulgar / Fringilla coelebs), European Goldfinch (Jilguero Europeo / Carduelis carduelis), European Serin (Serin Verdecillo / Serinus serinus), White Wagtail (Lavandera Blanca / Montacilla alba), Eurasian Tree Sparrow (Gorrión Molinero / Passer montanus), European Stonechat (Tarabilla Europea / Saxicola rubicola), European Robin (Petirrojo Europeo / Erithacus rubecula), Black Redstart (Colirrojo Tizón / Phoenicurus ochruros), Common Blackbird (Mirlo Común / Turdus merula), Great Spotted Woodpecker (Pico Picapinos / Dendrocopos major), Crested Lark (Cogujada Común / Galerida cristata) and both Common (Estornino Pinto / Sturnus vulgaris) and Spotless Starling (Estornino Negro / Sturnus unicolor).

Later in the day I dropped down to the Fields and did a short walk, I added Green Sandpiper (Andarrios Grande / Tringa ochropus), Little Owl (Mochuelo Europeo / Athene noctua), Common Kestrel (Cernicalo Vulgar / Falco tinnunculus), Eurasian Skylark (Alondra Común / Alauda arvensis), Sardinian Warbler (Curruca Cabecinegra / Curruca melanocephala), Common Waxbill (Estrilda Ondulada / Estrilda astrild), Corn Bunting (Escribano Triguero / Emberiza calandra) and several Small White (Pieris rapae) x6.
