Huétor Fields, Granada Province, Spain.

An early walk with Paqui from the Walnut Trees down Stream (if there was any water).
Ebird List for the Fields.

A heavy sky for the sunrise.
We headed down to the fields from my place seeing a very smart Iberian Brown Hare (Liebre ibérica / Lepus granatensis) in the headlights, we were there just before a very cloudy dawn and instead of doing the usual walk up to the gates we went the other way following the Arroyo down as far as the railway bridge.
As we walked past the Goat sheds to the first bridge we saw Feral (Paloma Bravía / Columba livia) and Common Woodpigeon (Paloma Torcaz / Columba palumbus), Eurasian Collared Dove (Tórtola Turca / Streptopelia decaocto), Eurasian Hoopoe (Abubilla Común / Upupa epops), Iberian Magpie (Rabilargo Ibérico / Cyanopica cooki), Crested Lark (Cogujada Común / Galerida cristata), Sardinian Warbler (Curruca Cabecinegra / Curruca melanocephala), Common Blackbird (Mirlo Común / Turdus merula), European Stonechat (Tarabilla Europea / Saxicola rubicola), House (Gorrión Común / Passer domesticus) and Eurasian Tree Sparrow (Gorrión Molinero / Passer montanus), White Wagtail (Lavandera Blanca / Montacilla alba), Common Chaffinch (Pinzón Vulgar / Fringilla coelebs), European Goldfinch (Jilguero Europeo / Carduelis carduelis) and Corn Bunting (Escribano Triguero / Emberiza calandra).
When we reached the bridge we swapped to the Southern side of the Arroyo and continued on down to the Railway, along this stretch we added Small White (Pieris rapae), Red-legged Partridge (Perdiz Roja / Alectoris rufa), Grey Heron (Garza Real / Ardea cinerea) x2, Great Spotted Woodpecker (Pico Picapinos / Dendrocopos major), a singing Woodlark (Alondra Totovía / Lullula arborea), Zitting Cisticola (Cistícola Buitrón / Cisticola juncidis), Common Chiffchaff (Mosquitero Común / Phylloscopus collybita), Eurasian Blackcap (Curruca Capirotada / Curruca capirotada), Eurasian Wren (Chochin paleártico / Troglodytes troglodytes), Spotless Starling (Estornino Negro / Sturnus unicolor), Mistle Thrush (Zorzal Charlo / Turdus viscivorus), European Robin (Petirrojo Europeo / Erithacus rubecula), Black Redstart (Colirrojo Tizón / Phoenicurus ochruros), Common Waxbill (Estrilda Ondulada / Estrilda astrild), Grey Wagtail (Lavandera Cascadena / Motacilla cinerea), Meadow Pipit (Bisbita Pratense / Anthus pratensis), European Greenfinch (Verderón Común / Chloris chloris) and European Serin (Serin Verdecillo / Serinus serinus).
At the bridge we turn around and returned to the car, we picked up Eurasian Blue (Herrerillo Común / Cyanistes caeruleus) and Great Tit (Carbonera Común / Parus major) and Eurasian Skylark (Alondra Común / Alauda arvensis).
Distant Whinchat (Tarabilla Norteña / Saxicola rubetra) on what I call the Migrant Fence.
We past the car and continued on towards the gates but turned around once we had see the regular Little Owl (Mochuelo Europeo / Athene noctua) which was sat on it's usual wall, we also found Common Kestrel (Cernicalo Vulgar / Falco tinnunculus), Whinchat (Tarabilla Norteña / Saxicola rubetra) and a Western Yellow Wagtail (Lavandera Boyera / Motacilla flava) before we headed back to my place and spent a few hours up on the terrace even though its still a building site.
