Heading home via Cubillas for some Orchids.

Just before Dawn in the Mothing area.
I started the day by checking the Moth light out in the Campo near Baza, as you can see from the previous post it was extremely quiet but it was windy and cold, so I was not surprised.
As I was checking the box I saw and heard Common Woodpigeon (Paloma Torcaz / Columba palumbus), Eurasian Hoopoe (Abubilla Común / Upupa epops), Eurasian Magpie (Urraca Común / Pica pica), Barn Swallow (Golondrina Común / Hirundo rustica), Mediterranean Short-toed (Terrera Marismena / Alaudala rufescens), Greater Short-toed (Terrera Común / Calandrella brachydactyla), and Thekla's Lark (Cogujada Montesina / Galerida theklae), Western Black-eared (Collalba Rubia Occidental / Oenanthe hispanica), European Stonechat (Tarabilla Europea / Saxicola rubicola), Common Linnet (Pardillo Común / Linaria cannabina) and Corn Bunting (Escribano Triguero / Emberiza calandra).

I packed the kit away and made my way to Hotel Restaurante Dama de Baza where I had a couple of coffees and a tostarda before heading back to Granada and the to Cubillas where I took some shots of a few Orchid species which included Giant (Himanthoglossum Robertiana) x8, Ophrys x juanamarii (Ophrys lupercalis × O. tenthredinifera) x15, Mirror (Ophrys speculum), Sawfly (Ophrys tenthredinifera), Yellow Bee (Ophrys lutea), Ophrys dyrisOphrys x juarezi (O. lupercalis x O. dyris) and Somber Bee (Ophrys lupercalis).

I also heard and saw Cetti's Warbler (Cetia Ruiseñor / Cettia cetti), Iberian Magpie (Rabilargo Ibérico / Cyanopica cooki), Common Blackbird (Mirlo Común / Turdus merula), Common Crossbill (Piquituerto Común / Loxia curvirostra), Sardinian (Curruca Cabecinegra / Curruca melanocephala) and Western Bonelli's Warbler (Mosquitero Papialbo / Phylloscopus bonelli), Short-toed Treecreeper (Agateador Europeo / Certhia brachydactyla), European Crested (Herrerillo Capuchino / Lophophanes cristatus) and Great Tit (Carbonera Común / Parus major), Common Chaffinch (Pinzón Vulgar / Fringilla coelebs)European Greenfinch (Verderón Común / Chloris chloris) and European Serin (Serin Verdecillo / Serinus serinus).
