Doesn't look a lot, but my back is telling me different this evening.

I started the day with a quick visit to Huétor to get a couple of bits, I returned home and shortly after I got back the local Log guy turned up with just over a 1000kg of Olive wood which he dropped on the road and I spent a rather painful hour or so bringing it in as I had niggled my back yesterday sneezing 😬😬😬

Anyway I decided that a walk might loosen things up so I thought I would head down to the fields but as I drove I decided to go to the Rio Genil first where I sat for a while and checked what came into some dead trees on the roadside, there were several very smart Eurasian Tree Sparrows (Gorrión Molinero / Passer montanus) a cracking species which I am always pleased to see.

In the area I also picked up Red-legged Partridge (Perdiz Roja / Alectoris rufa), Eurasian Collared Dove (Tórtola Turca / Streptopelia decaocto), Common Moorhen (Gallineta Común / Gallinulas chloropus), Common Buzzard (Busardo Ratonero / Buteo buteo), Common Kestrel (Cernicalo Vulgar / Falco tinnunculus), Monk Parakeet (Cotorra Argentina / Myiopsitta monachus), Iberian Magpie (Rabilargo Ibérico / Cyanopica cooki), Western Jackdaw (Grajilla occidental / Corvus monedula), Crested Lark (Cogujada Común / Galerida cristata), Common Chiffchaff (Mosquitero Común / Phylloscopus collybita), Cetti's Warbler (Cetia Ruiseñor / Cettia cetti), Long-tailed Tit (Mito Común / Aegithalos caudatus), Eurasian Blue Tit (Herrerillo Común / Cyanistes caeruleus), Common (Estornino Pinto / Sturnus vulgaris) and Spotless Starling (Estornino Negro / Sturnus unicolor), Common Blackbird (Mirlo Común / Turdus merula), European Robin (Petirrojo Europeo / Erithacus rubecula), Black Redstart (Colirrojo Tizón / Phoenicurus ochruros), European Stonechat (Tarabilla Europea / Saxicola rubicola), Grey (Lavandera Cascadena / Motacilla cinerea) and White Wagtail (Lavandera Blanca / Montacilla alba), Meadow Pipit (Bisbita Pratense / Anthus pratensis), Common Chaffinch (Pinzón Vulgar / Fringilla coelebs), Common Linnet (Pardillo Común / Linaria cannabina), European Goldfinch (Jilguero Europeo / Carduelis carduelis), European Serin (Serin Verdecillo / Serinus serinus), at least two ♂ Eurasian Siskins (Jilguero Lúgano / Carduelis spinus) and a single Small White (Pieris rapae) which was nectaring on some Mustard flowers.

I went back up through Huétor and then out onto the fields where I parked by the Walnut trees again and walked up as far as the muddier part of the track and then turned around and walked back past the car towards the crossroads but turned around before I got there.

Common Linnet (Pardillo Común / Linaria cannabina).

During the walk I saw several new species for the day including Little Bustard (Sisón Común / Tetrax tetrax), Green Sandpiper (Andarrios Grande / Tringa ochropus), Western Cattle Egret (Garcilla Bueyera / Bubulcus ibis), Grey Heron (Garza Real / Ardea cinerea), Black-winged Kite (Elanio Común / Elanus caeruleus), Eurasian Sparrowhawk (Gavilán Común / Accipiter nisus), Eurasian Skylark (Alondra Común / Alauda arvensis), Sardinian Warbler (Curruca Cabecinegra / Curruca melanocephala), Dartford Warbler (Curruca Rabilarga / Curruca undata) and Common Waxbill (Estrilda Ondulada / Estrilda astrild).
