A Morning walk at Huétor and then a visit to the fields to check on the wagtail situation.

Western Cattle Egret (Garcilla Bueyera / Bubulcus ibis).

I started the morning with a walk around the usual part of the Ring Road but as I reached the far side of the bridge I heard a call that I had been wanting hear on the Patch and I was soon watching a fine male Lesser-spotted Woodpecker (Pico Menor / Dryobates minor) at almost eye level in one of the dead parts of a White Poplar (Populus alba) to the west of the Bridge, a patch lifer.

While I was continuing the walk I also picked up a nice male Eurasian Golden Oriole (Oropéndola Europea / Oriolus oriolus) before I got back to the car.

I popped into the bar at Comustables Goméz for a coffee and then made a stop out on the fields where I was giving the probable Citrine Wagtail (Lavandera Cetrina / Motacilla citreola) sighting from yesterday another go but all I managed were loads of very varied Western Yellow Wagtails (Lavandera Boyera / Motacilla flava) including at least three different races.

Other Species included Little Bustard (Sisón Común / Tetrax tetrax) x5, Western Cattle Egret (Garcilla Bueyera / Bubulcus ibis), Black-winged Kite (Elanio Común / Elanus caeruleus), European Bee-eater (Abejaruco Europeo / Merops apiaster), Woodchat Shrike (Alcaudón Común / Lanius senator), Greater Short-toed (Terrera Común / Calandrella brachydactyla) and Crested Lark (Cogujada Común / Galerida cristata), Barn (Golondrina Común / Hirundo rustica) and Red-rumped Swallow (Golondrina Dáurica / Cecropis daurica), Western House Martin (Avión Común Occidental / Delichon urbicum), 800+ Spotless Starling (Estornino Negro / Sturnus unicolor), European Stonechat (Tarabilla Europea / Saxicola rubicola), House Sparrow (Gorrión Común / Passer domesticus), White Wagtail (Lavandera Blanca / Montacilla alba), European Goldfinch (Jilguero Europeo / Carduelis carduelis) and Corn Bunting (Escribano Triguero / Emberiza calandra).
