Huétor Fields and Home, Near Huétor Tajar, Granada Province, Spain.

A dawn walk down on the fields and an afternoon sat on the terrace.
Ebird List for the fields.
Ebird List for the Terrace.

Approaching dawn as I walked out along the fields.
I was up and out as I had a meeting at the Town Hall this morning but I had just over an hour to kill so I walked the Lucerne Fields first, on the way out it was a tad dark but as I reached the furthest point, just after the Poplar Plantation the sun came up over the hills.
As I walked back the main species were good numbers of Iberian  Magpies (Rabilargo / Cyanopica cooki) in and around the Poplars, a single Hawfinch (Picogordo / Coccotraustes coccotrauetes), Woodchat Shrike (Alcaudón Común / Lanius senator), Spanish (Yellow) Wagtail (Lavandera Boyera / Motacilla flava iberiae), a good number of Meadow Pipits (Bisbita Pratense / Anthus pratensis) still and a single almost summer plumage Water Pipit (Bisbita Alpino / Anthus spinoletta).
Further on I could hear and the had nice views of the Male Little Bustard (Sisón Común / Tetrax tetrax) along with Little Owl (Mochuelo Europeo / Athene noctua) x2, Stone Curlew (Alcaraván Común / Burhinus oedicnemus) x2, Black-winged Kite (Elanio Común / Elanus caeruleus) x2 and a skulking Common Whitethroat (Curruca Zarcera / Sylvia communis).
I went to the meeting in the Town Hall and then had some breakfast with Belen before calling in at Mercodona and heading back home.
At home I got the painting kit on and started the green railings around the back terrace, a job that Jayne had done many times, proving she had far more patience than me as I was hacked off with it after just a single section but I did persist and completed three.
Whilst I was sat doing this task / chore / nightmare job I had a group of 4 European Bee-eaters (Abejaruco Común / Merops apiaster) pass over and two Nightingales (Ruisenor Común / Luscinia megarhynchos) singing in the Barranco, both species were new for the year.
Other species seen included Hoopoe (Abubilla / Upupa epops), Iberian  Magpie (Rabilargo / Cyanopica cooki), House Martin (Avión Común / Delichon urbica), Blackcap (Curruca Capirotada / Sylvia atricapilla), Sardinian Warbler (Curruca Cabecinegra / Sylvia melanocephala) and a pale Morph Booted Eagle (Aguila Calzada / Aquila penntuas).
I also noted a few butterflies heading along the barranco including Clouded Yellow (Colias croceus) x1, Iberian Scarce Swallowtail (Iphiclides feisthameli) x1, Painted Lady (Vanessa cardui) x1, Provence Orange-tip (Anthocharis euphenoides) x3, Small White (Pieris rapae) x4, Large White (Pieris brassicae) x1 and Western Dappled White (Euchloe crameri) x2.
