A day in the city for Jayne's birthday.
Jayne and I drove over to Sevilla on the A92 to spend the day around the city but in particular the Reales Alcazares. On the way over I saw several Common Buzzards (Busardo Ratonero / Buteo buteo), Ravens (Cuervo / Corvus corax), a couple of Red Kites (Milano Real / Milvus milvus), a single Black-winged Kite (Elanio Común / Elanus caeruleus), Spotless Starling (Estornino Negro / Sturnus unicolor) and Jackdaw (Grajilla / Corvus monedula).
We reached the car park near the spot we wanted to visit with help from the new sat nav and then we walked to the entrance and spent the next four hours looking around the Reales Alcazares which was a fantastic site and well worth a visit although it was not cheap at €9:50 per person and €5 extra if you wanted the audio tour.
In the gardens I saw lots of Blackbirds (Mirlo Común / Turdus merula), Monk (Cotorra Argentina / Myiopsitta monachus) and Ring-necked Parakeets (Cotorra de Kramer / Psittacula Krameri), along with Blackcap (Curruca Capirotada / Sylvia atricailla), Black Redstart (Colirrojo Tizón / Phoenicurus ochruros), Collared Dove (Tórtola Turca / Streptopelia decaocto), Woodpigeon (Paloma Torcaz / Columba palumbus), White Wagtail (Lavandera Blanca / Montacilla alba), Serin (Verdecillo / Serinus serinus), Goldfinch (Jilguero / Carduelis carduelis), Mistle Thrush (Zorzal Charlo / Turdus viscivorus), House Sparrow (Gorrión Común / Passer domesticus) and Firecrest (Reyezuelo Listado / Regulus ignicapillus).

Later we went out into the city for a walk and along the river, later we went back towards the car and the had some lunch sat out in the sun.
We returned to the car and had slow drive back to Loja where we had a
very nice meal at El Cerro before heading home after a very nice day.
