Padul Wetlands, Granada Province, Spain.

A walk around part of the Padul Wetlands with Friend Polly.
Ebird List for the Reserve.

I met Polly at the bar near the Padul exit off the Motorway and we drove down to the Cafe-Bar Restaurante Montesol near the reserve and parked before dropping down to the side of the lake and walked Clockwise around to the visitor center and then took the track down along the Eastern side for a while then turned around and retraced our steps.

We walked through the low figs and out to the trees near to the visitors center where we sat for a while on one of the benches seeing more Eurasian Blackcaps, a single Garden (Curruca Mosquitera / Sylvia borin), a couple of Willow (Mosquitero Musical / Phylloscopus trochillus) and Sardinian Warblers (Curruca Cabecinegra / Curruca melanocephala), Great Spotted Woodpecker (Pico Picapinos / Dendrocopos major) heard, Great (Carbonera Común / Parus major) and Eurasian Blue Tit (Herrerillo Común / Cyanistes caeruleus) as well as African Grass Blue (Zizeeria knysna) x2 and Speckled Wood (Pararge aegeria) x5.
Little Grebe (Zampullín Común / Tachybaptus ruficollis) and Mallard (Anade Azulón / Anas platyrhynchos) male and female.
Along the Eastern side we checked a couple of side tracks and as we walked we bumped into a couple of Medio Ambiante Agents who I recognised eventually, we had a chat and they told us about a Black-winged Kite (Elanio Común / Elanus caeruleus) they had seen so we headed in the direction they told us but before we reached the spot we picked up a Kite in a tree off to the left of the track not the right where they had said.
Garden Warbler (Curruca Mosquitera / Sylvia borin).
Garden Warbler (Curruca Mosquitera / Sylvia borin).
