Malaga, Malaga Province and near Huétor Tajar, Granada Province, Spain.

Leaving Barbara and Derek in peace and picking up friends Pam and John from Malaga Airport.

After a warm humid night I was up and about with Barbara and Derek for some breakfast before saying goodbye to Barbara and heading down to Malaga Car near the airport where Derek dropped me off and I collected a hire car as mine is still off the road.
I went to Decathlon and then went in to the airport when Pam messaged me and then we were soon on our way up to the house but called in for a tostarda near Villanueva del Rosario and then continued on to Mercodona in Huétor to the house where Pam and John settled in before coming up on to the Terrace.
Whilst we were up there John saw a butterfly in the barranco which turned out to be my first Desert Orange-tip (Colotis evagore) of the year on the local patch and only the second ever from the garden.
Bird wise we started their holiday list off with Barn Swallow (Golondrina Común / Hirundo rustica), Booted Eagle (Aguila Calzada / Aquila penntuas), House Sparrow (Gorrión Común / Passer domesticus), Eurasian Collared (Tórtola Turca / Streptopelia decaocto) and European Turtle Dove (Tórtola Europea / Streptopelia turtur) and Spotless Starling (Estornino Negro / Sturnus unicolor).
Around the wildlife pool in front of the guest accommodation we watched two male Epaulet Skimmers (Orthetrum chrysostigma) and a female which was egg laying.
Later in the evening we went down town and some food and a drink at Restaurante pizzería CJ.
