This morning I woke to a grey overcast sky with the odd gust of wind and started the day list with the usual suspects including Galah (Eolophus roseicapilla), Sulphur-crested Cockatoo (Cacatua galerita), Crimson Rosella (Platycercus elegans), Rainbow Lorikeet (Trichoglossus moluccanus), New Holland Honeyeater (Phylidonyris novaehollandiae), Australian Magpie (Gymnorhina tibicen), Little Raven (Corvus mellori), House Sparrow (Passer domesticus), Eurasian Blackbird (Turdus merula), Common Starling (Sturnus vulgaris), Little (Anthochaera chrysoptera) and Red Wattlebird (Anthochaera carunculata).

Just before 08:00 we set off for Laratinga Wetlands where Deb had to meet someone to return some equipment so we thought it would rude not to spend a couple of hours birding there, on the way there were several Straw-necked Ibis (Threskiornis spinicollis) and as we entered the reserve we started things with a very smart White-faced Heron (Egretta novaehollandiae), which was quickly followed by Dusky Moorhen (Gallinula tenebrosa), Pacific Black Duck (Anas superciliosa), Common Starling (Sturnus vulgaris), White-plumed Honeyeater (Ptilotula penicillata), Rainbow Lorikeet (Trichoglossus moluccanus) and Superb Fairywren (Malurus cyaneus).

On the first two pools which were on either side of the track we added Hardhead (Aythya australis), Grey (Anas gracilis) and Chestnut Teal (Anas castanea), Australian Shoveler (Spatula rhynchotis), Australian Wood Duck (Chenonetta jubata), Freckled Duck (Stictonetta naevosa), Australasian (Tachybaptus novaehollandiae) and Hoary-headed Grebe (Poliocephalus poliocephalus), Common Bronzewing (Phaps chalcoptera), Australian Reed Warbler (Acrocephalus australis), Little Grassbird (Poodytes gramineus), Eurasian Blackbird, Tree Martin (Petrochelidon nigricans), Welcome Swallow (Hirundo neoxena) and Red Wattlebird.

Out on the first boardwalk we added Masked Lapwing (Vanellus miles), Eurasian Coot (Fulica atra), the first of a few Australian Crakes (Porzana fluminea), Australasian Swamphen (Porphyrio melanotus) and as we continued on around the two well vegetated lakes we picked up Pink-eared Duck (Malacorhynchus membranaceus), Red-kneed Dotterel (Erythrogonys cinctus), Silver Gull (Chroicocephalus novaehollandiae), Australian Ibis (Threskiornis molucca), Galah, Little Corella (Cacatua sanguinea), Musk Lorikeet (Glossopsitta concinna), White-naped (Melithreptus lunatus) and New Holland Honeyeater, Striated Pardalote (Pardalotus striatus), Striated Thornbill (Acanthiza lineata), Grey Shrikethrush (Colluricincla harmonica) and Magpie-lark (Grallina cyanoleuca).

On the way back to the car we checked the reedy and muddy margins seeing Baillon's Crake (Zapornia pusilla), Wedge-tailed Eagle (Aquila audax) x2, Willie-wagtail, Little Raven and a couple of Long-necked Turtle (Chelodina longicollis).

Deb and I then called in at her Mom's on the way back before Deb, Ian and I headed off to Goowla where Molly and Maddy had an appointment at the vets, before the appointment we got Lunch, Sunfish and Chips which we had up at Freeman's Lookout as well as Pacific Gull (Larus pacificus) and Silver Gull, Caspian Tern (Hydroprogne caspia) and Singing Honeyeater (Gavicalis virescens).

We returned to Goowla and to the Vets, afterwards we went down to the Goolwa Barrage and on to the Beacon 19 Boat Ramp, on the track after the Barrage we made three stops and recorded Little Pied (Microcarbo melanoleucos), Great (Phalacrocorax carbo) and Little Black Cormorant (Phalacrocorax sulcirostris), Australian Pelican (Pelecanus conspicillatus), Black Swan (Cygnus atratus), Grey Teal, Pacific Black Duck, Hoary-headed Grebe, White-faced Heron, Great White Egret (Ardea alba), Royal (Platalea regia) and Yellow-billed Spoonbill (Platalea flavipes), Whiskered (Chlidonias hybrida) and Great Crested Tern (Thalasseus bergii), Red-kneed Dotterel, Crested Pigeon (Ocyphaps lophotes) and Spotted Dove (Spilopelia chinensis).

We then started to head back to the house, the only significant sighting on the way was a nice flock of around 20x Australian Shelduck (Tadorna tadornoides).

Once we were back I was again entertained by the large flock of Tree Martins that come in nearly every afternoon, as well as Grey Fantail (Rhipidura albiscapa), Laughing Kookaburra (Dacelo novaeguineae) and Collared Sparrowhawk (Accipiter cirrocephalus).
