Huétor Fields, Granada Province, Spain.

A drive around the local patch.

Western Cattle Egrets (Garcilla Bueyera / Bubulcus ibis).
I started off by checking the Lucerne fields along the Northern side of the Arroyo de Vilano where there were lots of feeding Western Yellow Wagtail (Lavandera Boyera / Motacilla flava) x80+, Corn Bunting (Triguero / Emberiza calandra) x29, Collared Dove (Tórtola Turca / Streptopelia decaocto) x6, Northern Lapwing (Avefria Europea / Vanellus vanellus) x1, the first of 45 Western Cattle Egrets (Garcilla Bueyera / Bubulcus ibis), Grey Heron (Garza Real / Ardea cinerea), several Hoopoe (Abubilla / Upupa epops) feeding amongst the cut Lucerne x7, Spotless Starling (Estornino Negro / Sturnus unicolor) x200+, a 100 or so Woodpigeons (Paloma Torcaz / Columba palumbus) some down on the field but most up on the wires, Zitting Cisticola (Buitrón / Cisticola juncidis), a large flock of finches with a few Goldfinches (Jilguero / Carduelis carduelis), loads of Serins (Verdecillo / Serinus serinus) x70+ and a few Linnet (Pardillo Común / Carduelis cannabina).
A little further along the track I stopped to check a small allotment area and the surrounding fences where I found several Migramts feeding up as they make their way south including Common Redstart (Colirroja Real / Phoenicurus phoenicurus), Whinchat (Tarabilla Nortena / Saxicola rubetra), Northern Wheatear (Collalba Gris / Oenanthe oenanthe), Willow Warbler (Mosquitero Musical / Phylloscopus trochillus), an immature Woodchat Shrike (Alcaudón Común / Lanius senator) and there was also a newly arrived in male Bluethroat (Pechiazul / Luscinia svecica).

In this area I also saw Blackbird (Mirlo Común / Turdus merula), Little Owl (Mochuelo Europeo / Athene noctua), Barn Swallow (Golondrina Común / Hirundo rustica),  Sardinian Warbler (Curruca Cabecinegra / Sylvia melanocephala), Common Stonechat (Tarabilla Común / Saxicola torquata), Crested Lark (Cogujada / Galerida cristata), Common Magpie (Urraca / Pica pica) and Greenfinch (Verderón Común / Carduelis chloris).
I continued on around the site and took the track along the eastern end of the Arroyo where I checked the Rush field, the reed beds and Fields finding Blackcap (Curruca Capirotada / Sylvia atricailla), Reed Warbler (Carricero Común / Acrocephalus scrpaceus), Iberian  Magpie (Rabilargo / Cyanopica cooki), Pied Flycatcher (Papamoscas Cerrojillo / Ficedula hypoleuca), 3x Red-rumped Swallows (Golondrina Dáurica / Hirundo daurica), House Martin (Avión Común / Delichon urbica), Great Tit (Carbonera Común / Parus major) and a single flyby European Bee-eater (Abejaruco Común / Merops apiaster).

Hi, is to possible to give me the exact coordinates to the Iberian Magpies, maybe also some tips how to find them. It is probably my last chance before going back home. You stated they are common in the area so maybe I will have some luck at last. Thank you very much. All the best Slawomir
Please do send the coordinates also to my email address: hispanolensis29@gmail.com
