A wonderful evening walk with Paqui and Yanira along the Riofrio to its source.

 

The Riofrio.

After a day around the house I met up with Paqui and her daughter Yanira and we headed out along the A92 to the village of Riofrio where Paqui parked near the town and we had a nice walk out to the Nacimiento de Riofrío.

On the walk out and at the Source of the River we saw Common Woodpigeon (Paloma Torcaz / Columba palumbus), Common Swift (Vencejo Común / Apus apus), Barn Swallow (Golondrina Común / Hirundo rustica), Common Nightingale (Ruisenor Común / Luscinia megarhynchos), Common Blackbird (Mirlo Común / Turdus merula), European Robin (Petirrojo Europeo / Erithacus rubecula), Eurasian Blackcap (Curruca Capirotada / Curruca capirotada), Cetti's (Cetia Ruiseñor / Cettia cetti) and Sardinian Warbler (Curruca Cabecinegra / Curruca melanocephala), Great Tit (Carbonera Común / Parus major), Grey Wagtail (Lavandera Cascadena / Motacilla cinerea), Iberian (Rabilargo Ibérico / Cyanopica cooki) and Eurasian Magpie (Urraca Común / Pica pica), Common Chaffinch (Pinzón Vulgar / Fringilla coelebs), European Serin (Serin Verdecillo / Serinus serinus), European Greenfinch (Verderón Común / Chloris chloris), European Goldfinch (Jilguero Europeo / Carduelis carduelis), Bath (Pontia daplidice) and Small White (Pieris rapae), Clouded Yellow (Colias croceus), Small Copper (Lycaena phlaeas), Holly Blue (Celastrina argiolus), Red Admiral (Vanessa atalanta), Painted Lady (Vanessa cardui), Spanish Gatekeeper (Pyronia bathseba) and Meadow Brown (Maniola jurtina).

We walked back to the car after a while and then Paqui and Yanira set up the table next to a bench where we had a really nice picnic with Tomato Salad, Aioli, Tortilla and Calamari, amazing.
