Huétor Fields, Granada Province, Spain.*

Dentist, Mercadona and a walk around the fields.

Red-veined Darter (Sympetrum fonscolombii).
I started the morning with a check up at the dentists in Loja and got an all clear which was nice and even better when it doesn't cost a cent !!!
Southern Skimmer (Orthetrum brunneum).
I then got a few bits of building stuff that I need and popped into Mercadona before going for a walk on the fields, I parked at the usual spot and then walked up stream to the pool and a little further seeing a single Black-winged Kite (Elanio Común / Elanus caeruleus), large numbers of passage European Bee-eater (Abejaruco Común / Merops apiaster) which were sat up lining the highest wires of the Pylon's which cross the site, European Turtle Dove (Tórtola Europea / Streptopelia turtur), Eurasian Hoopoe (Abubilla / Upupa epops), Woodchat Shrike (Alcaudón Común / Lanius senator), Cetti's Warbler (Cetia Ruiseñor / Cettia cetti), Common Nightingale (Ruisenor Común / Luscinia megarhynchos) and Spanish (Yellow) (Lavandera Boyera / Motacilla flava iberiae) and White Wagtail (Lavandera Blanca / Montacilla alba).

Also seen were several Red-veined Darters (Sympetrum fonscolombii) x8, Scarlet Darter (Crocothemis erythraea) x5 all teneral, Southern Skimmer (Orthetrum brunneum) male, Small White (Pieris rapae) x4 and loads of Rabbits (Conejo / Oryctolagus cuniculus).

I turned around and walked back to the car and then out along the track between the fields and the Arroyo where the Lucerne had grown quickly which made counting the Little Bustards (Sisón Común / Tetrax tetrax) more difficult but eventually I found 14 headed popping up and down.

Other species included
Common Swift (Vencejo Común / Apus apus), Eurasian Stone Curlew (Alcaraván Común / Burhinus oedicnemus), Iberian  Magpie (Rabilargo Ibérico / Cyanopica cooki), Western House Martin (Avión Común / Delichon urbica), Barn Swallow (Golondrina Común / Hirundo rustica), Common Waxbill (Estrilda Ondulada / Estrilda astrild), Corn Bunting (Escribano Triguero / Emberiza calandra), Lang's Short-tailed Blue (Leptotes pirithous) x2 and Clouded Yellow (Colias croceus) x1.
