Huétor Tajar, Huétor Fields and at Home, Granada Province, Spain.

Another walk back from the Mechanic's.
Ebird List for the fields, 33 Species.
Ebird list for the Terrace, 18 Species.

House Martin (Avión Común / Delichon urbica).
I was up and out fairly early to drop the car back to the mechanic's in Venta Nueva for him to continue the on going battle between himself and an intermittent engine warning light.
House Martin (Avión Común / Delichon urbica).
On the first part of the walk up to Huétor I started the list with House Sparrow (Gorrión Común / Passer domesticus), Spotless Starling (Estornino Negro / Sturnus unicolor), Feral Pigeon (Paloma Bravía / Columba livia), Collared Dove (Tórtola Turca / Streptopelia decaocto), Common Swift (Vencejo Común / Apus apus), Barn Swallow (Golondrina Común / Hirundo rustica) and plenty of House Martins (Avión Común / Delichon urbica) some of which were perched on the same wires as the Swallows were the last time I did this walk.
Field Convulvulous (Convolvulus arvensis).
I followed the concrete channel into Huétor finding a group of three immature Grey Wagtails (Lavandera Cascadena / Motacilla cinerea), several Spanish (Yellow) Wagtails (Lavandera Boyera / Motacilla flava iberiae), Greenfinch (Verderón Común / Carduelis chloris) and Goldfinch (Jilguero / Carduelis carduelis), Woodpigeon (Paloma Torcaz / Columba palumbus), Crested Lark (Cogujada / Galerida cristata), Perez's Frog (Rana Común / Pelophylax perezi) and up at the river there were the usual domestic Greylag Geese (Ansar Común / Anser anser) and Mallards (Anade Azulón / Anas platyrhynchos) as well as a couple of Muscovy Duck (Cairina moschata).
Corn Poppy (Papaver rhoeas).
As I walked through the town I saw more Common Swifts and House Martins but nothing else but as I continued out onto the fields to the North of the town I picked up more Spanish (Yellow) Wagtails, most of which appeared to be immature birds, Woodchat Shrike (Alcaudón Común / Lanius senator), Greater Short-toed Lark (Terrera Común / Calandrella brachydactyla), Zitting Cisticola (Buitrón / Cisticola juncidis), Sardinian Warbler (Curruca Cabecinegra / Sylvia melanocephala), Corn Bunting (Triguero / Emberiza calandra), Serin (Verdecillo / Serinus serinus), Mallow-leaved (Convolvulus althaeoides) and Field Convulvulous (Convolvulus arvensis), Red-horned (Glaucium corniculatum) and Corn Poppy (Papaver rhoeas),  Common Chicory (Cichorium intybus), Onopordum nervosum, Wild Leek (allium ampeloprasum) and Spanish Oyster Thistle (Scolymos hispanicus).
Onopordum nervosum.
I continued on along the Arroyo Vilano and around the Lucerne fields, on the way I could hear the male Little Bustard (Sisón Común / Tetrax tetrax) calling but he remained out of sight, Linnet (Pardillo Común / Carduelis cannabina), Nightingale (Ruisenor Común / Luscinia megarhynchos), Common Stonechat (Tarabilla Común / Saxicola torquata), Iberian  Magpie (Rabilargo / Cyanopica cooki), Common Buzzard (Busardo Ratonero / Buteo buteo), plenty of Turtle Doves (Tórtola Europea / Streptopelia turtur), Common Magpie (Urraca / Pica pica) and a White Wagtail (Lavandera Blanca / Montacilla alba).
Squirting Cucumber (Ecballium elaterium).
The last leg of the walk was up to the house, on the pole at the side of the road there was one of the two Little Owls (Mochuelo Europeo / Athene noctua) I regularly see, as I walked I added Ocellated Lizard (Timon lepidus), Squirting Cucumber (Ecballium elaterium) and Wild Caper (Capparis spinosa) but nothing else.
Little Owl (Mochuelo Europeo / Athene noctua).
During the whole walk I did see a few species of butterfly including at least 30+
Small White (Pieris rapae), Bath White (Pontia daplidice) x5, Clouded Yellow (Colias corceua) x3, Lang's Short-tailed (Leptotes pirithous) x1 and Long-tailed Blue (Lampides baeticus) x1 and Wall Brown (Lasiommata megera) x1.
Little Owl (Mochuelo Europeo / Athene noctua).
I arrived home, sorted a few bits and then went out on to the terrace for lunch and as it was not too hot decided to stay there for a while seeing a dark morph Booted Eagle (Aguililla Calzada / Hieraaetus pennatus), Common Buzzard, European Bee-eater (Abejaruco Común / Merops apiaster), Hoopoe (Abubilla / Upupa epops) which were new for the day along with more Iberian  Magpies, Turtle Doves, and a Common Kestrel (Cernicalo Vulgar / Falco tinnunculus) which was probably the best bird of the afternoon as I don't get many records from the terrace, in fact I think I have seen more Iberian Imperial Eagles (Aguila Imperial Ibérica / Aguila adalberti) than Common Kestrels from the house.
Woodchat Shrike (Alcaudón Común / Lanius senator).
I also saw Small x20+ and Large White (Pieris brassicae) x1, Clouded Yellow x3, Speckled Wood (Pararge aegeria) x2 and Iberian Scarce Swallowtail (Iphiclides feisthameli) x1.
