Huétor Fields, Granada Province, Spain.*

A walk on the Local Patch.
Ebird List.

Heavy Calima.
I was originally planning to go up Sierra de Loja but the wind and the thick Calima put me off so I just went for a walk down on the fields near Huétor, on the way down I saw one of the regular Little Owls (Mochuelo Europeo / Athene noctua) sat on the wires next to one of the wooden poles.
The arrival of the second male Little Bustard (Sisón Común / Tetrax tetrax) which stirred things up a tad.
I parked in the usual spot and walked the Lucerne fields first starting the list off with Barn Swallow (Golondrina Común / Hirundo rustica), Western House Martin (Avión Común Occidental / Delichon urbicum), Common Swift (Vencejo Común / Apus apus),  Eurasian Magpie (Urraca Común / Pica pica), Spotless Starling (Estornino Negro / Sturnus unicolor), House Sparrow (Gorrión Común / Passer domesticus), Feral (Paloma Bravía / Columba livia) and Common Woodpigeon (Paloma Torcaz / Columba palumbus), European Turtle (Tórtola Europea / Streptopelia turtur) and Eurasian Collared Dove (Tórtola Turca / Streptopelia decaocto), Mallard (Anade Azulón / Anas platyrhynchos), a small group of 9 European Bee-eaters (Abejaruco Común / Merops apiaster), Crested Lark (Cogujada / Galerida cristata), Corn Bunting (Triguero / Emberiza calandra), Zitting Cisticola (Cistícola Buitrón / Cisticola juncidis), Sardinian (Curruca Cabecinegra / Curruca melanocephala) and Cetti's Warbler (Cetia Ruiseñor / Cettia cetti) and Common Nightingale (Ruisenor Común / Luscinia megarhynchos).
3x Little Bustards (Sisón Común / Tetrax tetrax), the chase is on.
Further round where I was between the fields and the Arroyo I heard the usual male
Little Bustard (Sisón Común / Tetrax tetrax) calling but as I reached the Walnut trees I looked back and saw a second Male drop in and then a minute or so later there were two males in pursuit of a single female which went on for around 10 minutes.
Lang's Short-tailed Blue (Leptotes pirithous).
In the same area and out on the fields section I saw a
Red-rumped Swallow (Golondrina Dáurica / Hirundo daurica), a single Black-winged Kite (Elanio Común / Elanus caeruleus), Common Blackbird (Mirlo Común / Turdus merula), Eurasian Tree Sparrow (Gorrión Molinero / Passer montanus), European Serin (Serin Verdecillo / Serinus serinus), European Goldfinch (Jilguero Europeo / Carduelis carduelis), Common Chaffinch (Pinzón Vulgar / Fringilla coelebs), European Greenfinch (Verderón Común / Chloris chloris), Common Linnet (Pardillo Común / Carduelis cannabina) and Spanish (Yellow) Wagtail (Lavandera Boyera / Motacilla flava iberiae).
Common Chicory (Cichorium intybus).
Wild Leek (allium ampeloprasum).
As I started to make my way back towards the car along the Arroyo I saw Iberian  Magpie (Rabilargo Ibérico / Cyanopica cooki), Woodchat Shrike (Alcaudón Común / Lanius senator), Small White (Pieris rapae) x1, Lang's Short-tailed Blue (Leptotes pirithous) x1, Speckled Wood (Pararge aegeria) x2, Holly Blue (Celastrina argiolus) x1, Common Chicory (Cichorium intybus), Wild Leek (allium ampeloprasum) and Spanish Oyster Thistle (Scolymos hispanicus).
