I met Juan down on the coast near to Charca Suarez, we set up at a spot on Playa de Granada and spent the next 90 minutes doing a sea-watch, species seen included

At just after 09:30 we packed in and went down to the gate and onto the reserve at 10:00 when Manu let us all in, Beatriz, Juan and I started by checking the two hides which over look Laguna del Taraje where we started the list off with Common Moorhen (Gallineta Común / Gallinulas chloropus),

Our next stop was at the hide over looking Alamo Blanco but apart from a few more Mallards and a Grey Heron (Garza Real / Ardea cinerea) we didn't see anything so we moved on and made our way around towards the main hide overlooking Laguna de las Aneas, on the way we saw a nice singing
Nightingale Monk Parakeets (Cotorra Argentina / Myiopsitta monachus), Great (Carbonera Común / Parus major) and a calling but not seen Penduline Tit (Pájaro Moscón / Remiz pendulinus), Common Kestrel (Cernicalo Vulgar / Falco tinnunculus) and a flock of 18 passing
Glossy Ibis (Morito Común / Plegadis falcinellus).

We returned to the main hide but found nothing new so we started to make our way back around to the entrance, on the way we heard a calling

I said bye to Beatriz and Juan and headed home via the old road and checked out a spot Juan told me about where I was hoping to see

As I crossed the river at the wire I noticed a movement on the main slope of the wire and was surprised to see a
European Eel (Anguilla anguilla) trying to make its way up stream.

I reached the spot and almost instantly I could here the
Olivaceous singing from the Tamarisk trees but as I searched for it the bird flew across the river and landed close to me in a Eucalyptus tree giving me great views before I continued on home.
