Embalse del Cubillas, Granada Province, Spain.

A mornings searching for birds with Beatriz and Juan.
Ebird List, 31 Species.

Looking quite a bit fuller over the last few week.
I was up, out and heading for Granada earlish, whilst loading the I could hear two Eurasian Eagle Owls (Búho Real / Bubo bubo) calling out in the Olives and as I drove to meet Beatriz and Juan on the Eastern side of the Embalse I added Little Owl (Mochuelo Europeo / Athene noctua), Common Chaffinch (Pinzón Vulgar / Fringilla coelebs), Common Kestrel (Cernicalo Vulgar / Falco tinnunculus), Common Buzzard (Busardo Ratonero / Buteo buteo), Common Magpie (Urraca / Pica pica), Woodpigeon (Paloma Torcaz / Columba palumbus) and Grey Heron (Garza Real / Ardea cinerea).
I arrived a tad early so I had a quick look at the Embalse which was fuller than I have seen it for a long time but this meant that there were no waders or herons on the margins but I did see Common Pochard (Porrón Común / Aythya ferina), Mallard (Anade Azulón / Anas platyrhynchos), Great Crested Grebe (Somormujo Lavanco / Podiceps cristatus), Great Cormorant (Cormorán Grande / Phalacrocroax carbo), Eurasian Coot (Focha Común / Fulica atra) and a good number of Barn Swallows (Golondrina Común / Hirundo rustica).
I moved a little way up the road and checked an area of dead and dying Poplar trees where I had Blackcap (Curruca Capirotada / Sylvia atricailla), Common Chiffchaff (Mosquitero Común / Phylloscopus collybita), Common Chaffinch (Pinzón Vulgar / Fringilla coelebs), Great Spotted Woodpecker (Pico Picapinos / Dendrocopos major), Song Thrush (Zorzal Común / Turdus philomelos) and Iberian  Magpie (Rabilargo / Cyanopica cooki).
Soon after I arrived at the meeting point I was joined by Beatriz, Juan and Chika and we spent the next 3 hours plus seeing what we could find, species included more Iberian  Magpies, at least 4 more Great Spotted Woodpeckers, Cetti's Warbler (Ruisenor Bastardo / Cettia cetti), Long-tailed Tit (Mito / Aegithalos caudatus), Firecrest (Reyezuelo Listado / Regulus ignicapillus), Short-toed Treecreeper (Agateador Común / Certhia brachydactyla), Wren (Chochin / Troglodytes troglodytes), Mistle Thrush (Zorzal Charlo / Turdus viscivorus), Black Redstart (Colirrojo Tizón / Phoenicurus ochruros), Hawfinch (Picogordo / Coccotraustes coccotrauetes) and a Siskin (Lúgano / Carduelis spinus) and others.
After a good walk we returned to our cars and then headed off home where I later sat and watched the Wolves match, lucky 3 points.
