My first Orchid species in Australia and a few birds as well.

Today Deb was out and about doing some survey work so I had a wander around the local area, out on the fields during feeding and on a run out to check on the Cattle I picked up

Wedge-tailed Eagle (Aquila audax),
Australasian Grebe (Tachybaptus novaehollandiae),
Crimson Rosella (Platycercus elegans),
Grey Currawong (Strepera versicolor),
Australian Magpie (Gymnorhina tibicen),
Willie-wagtail (Rhipidura leucophrys),
Galah's (Eolophus roseicapilla) and
Superb Fairywren (Malurus cyaneus).

Later I went for a walk up Bald Hill Road where I was very pleased to find my first Orchid Species in Australia, in amongst the vegetation along the roadside I found at least 50 spikes of
Knodding Greenhood Orchid (Pterostylis nutans) and quite a bit of Purple Coral Pea (Hardenbergia violacea)

As I walked I picked up Brown-headed Honeyeater (Melithreptus brevirostris),
Grey Shrikethrush (Colluricincla harmonica),
White-throated Treecreeper (Cormobates leucophaea),
Elegant Parrot (Neophema elegans) x3,
Rainbow Lorikeet (Trichoglossus moluccanus),
Striated Thornbill (Acanthiza lineata),
Western Whistler (Pachycephala fuliginosa),
Laughing Kookaburra (Dacelo novaeguineae),
Sulphur-crested Cockatoo (Cacatua galerita),
Common Garden Skink (Lampropholis guichenoti) and my first live
Red Fox (Zorro / Vulpus vulpus). |

I returned to the farm as it looked like it was going to rain where I had views of Crested Pigeon (Ocyphaps lophotes),

New Holland Honeyeater (Phylidonyris novaehollandiae),
White-browed Scrubwren (Sericornis frontalis),
Eurasian Blackbird (Turdus merula),
House Sparrow (Passer domesticus),
Little Raven (Corvus mellori),
Welcome Swallow (Hirundo neoxena) and
Red-browed Firetail (Neochmia temporalis).
