Between Ojedo and Fuente De and Back, Cantabria, Spain.

A wet day in the woods in the lower woodlands.

Short-toed Treecreeper (Agateador Común / Certhia brachydactyla).
I left the hostal after seeing Spotted Flycatcher (Papamoscas Gris / Muscicapa striata), Common Redstart (Colirroja Real / Phoenicurus phoenicurus), Blackbird (Mirlo Común / Turdus merula), White Wagtail (Lavandera Blanca / Montacilla alba) and Serin (Verdecillo / Serinus serinus).
I started to make my way towards Fuente De, just outside of Potes I had an Otter (Nutria / Lutra lutra) cross the road and shoot off down to the river.
Short-toed Treecreeper (Agateador Común / Certhia brachydactyla).

I made a stop at Los Llanos and had a bit of walk in the rain seeing Dipper (Mirlo Acuático / Cinclus cinclus), Great Spotted Woodpecker (Pico Picapinos / Dendrocopos major), Carrion Crow (Corneja Negra / Corvus corone), Wren (Chochin / Troglodytes troglodytes), Song Thrush (Zorzal Común / Turdus philomelos), Blackcap (Curruca Capirotada / Sylvia atricailla), Grey Wagtail (Lavandera Cascadena / Motacilla cinerea), Common Chaffinch (Pinzón Vulgar / Fringilla coelebs), Blue Tit (Herrerillo Común / Parus caeruleus), Robin (Petirrojo Europeo / Erithacus rubecula), Long-tailed Tit (Mito / Aegithalos caudatus), Woodpigeon (Paloma Torcaz / Columba palumbus) and a couple of Griffon Vultures (Bultre Leonado / Gyps fulvus).
Marsh Tit (Carbonero Palustre /Parus palustris).
The rain got heavier so I walked back to the car and drove up to the area around the Cable car station where I had another damp walk finding
Goldcrest (Reyezuelo Sencillo / Regulus regulus), Short-toed Treecreeper (Agateador Común / Certhia brachydactyla), Mistle Thrush (Zorzal Charlo / Turdus viscivorus), Black Redstart (Colirrojo Tizón / Phoenicurus ochruros) and Great Tit (Carbonera Común / Parus major).
Marsh Tit (Carbonero Palustre /Parus palustris).
I walked up the hill behind the station and into the woods where I got even wetter due to the rain and all the big blobs coming off the leaves but I did pick up a few nice species including
Robin (Petirrojo Europeo / Erithacus rubecula), Common Treecreeper (Agateador Norteño / Certhia familiaris) a family party, Nuthatch (Trepador Azul / Sitta europaea), Bonelli's Warbler (Mosquitero Papialbo / Phylloscopus bonelli), Jay (Arrendajo / Garrulus glandarius) and best of all a Marsh Tit (Carbonero Palustre /Parus palustris).
Red-backed Shrike (Alcaudón Dorsirrojo / Lanius collurio).
I walked back down to the car seeing
Firecrest (Reyezuelo Listado / Regulus ignicapillus), Red-backed Shrike (Alcaudón Dorsirrojo / Lanius collurio), Egyptian Vulture (Alimoche Común / Neophron percnopterus), Red-billed Chough (Chova Piquirroja / Pyrrhocorax pyrrhocorax) and Peregrine Falcon (Halcón Peregrino / Falco peregrinus).
White Stonecrop (Sedum album).
At about 14.30 I admitted defeat as the rain got even heavier and headed back to the Hostal were I spent some time on the PC and scanning the garden and river seeing
