A walk around the Lucerne Fields before a coffee with friends in Riofio.
Ebird List for the Fields.

Early Sunshine coming up over the Sierra Nevada.
|
I started the morning by going around to the Walnut Trees along the side of the Arroyo Vilano and then went for a walk back along the Lucerne fields to my normal parking spot but stopped there as it got a tad too muddy to continue on up stream.

A very muddy Arroyo due to the amount of top soil being lost.

Eurasian Stone Curlews (Alcaraván Común / Burhinus oedicnemus) where a little closer to the road than usual.

I reached the river, first of all I spent a while watching the local town hall guys clearing debris from the central piers of the Bridge over the Genil.

Again I returned to the car and went up the motorway to Riofrio where I picked up friend Pat and we then went for a late breakfast at La Casa del Pastel, whilst we chatted we were joined by Pepe, she was celebrating her 60th birthday so we pushed the boat out and had a second Coffee.
