I popped down into Potes and did a bit of shopping and had some breakfast, as I walked around I added

It was still quite dull so I decided to visit a spot up the road towards Fuente De, I got there and parked and almost straight away I heard what I was sure was a Middle-spotted Woodpecker (Pico Mediano / Dendrocopos medius) but as hard as I tried I couldn't locate it, whoever a bit later I heard it again and managed to get brief views of the bird three times in trees on the far side of the river. |

I returned to the Camp site and parked up, I then went for a walk that Ed Mckrill had shown me up above the camp site, as I walked sun sun tried to break through and by the time I reached the meadows it was quite warm, on the way up I saw a very well behaved Black Redstart, Common Stonechat (Tarabilla Común / Saxicola torquata),
European Greenfinch (Verderón Común / Chloris chloris),
Cirl Bunting (Escribano Soteno / Emberiza cirlus),
Eurasian Wren (Chochin paleártico / Troglodytes troglodytes) and
Western Bonelli's Warbler (Mosquitero Papialbo / Phylloscopus bonelli). |
