A walk along the Arroyo Vilano and the Lucerne Fields.

The first thing I saw after getting out of the car was a large shape right at the end of the Lucerne fields which turned out to be an immature
Common Crane (Grulla Común / Grus grus), I got better views further along the fields and later it flew further along the Arroyo to another Lucerne field.

In the area where I parked and along the first part of the Arroyo I also recorded
Grey Heron (Garza Real / Ardea cinerea), Little Bustards (Sisón Común / Tetrax tetrax), Golden Plover (Chorlito Dorado Europeo / Pluvialis apricaia),
Northern Lapwing (Avefria Europea / Vanellus vanellus), Snipe (Agachadiza Común / Gallinago gallinago),
Green Sandpiper (Andarrios Grande / Tringa ochropus),
Sparrowhawk (Gavilán Común / Accipiter nisus),
Common Buzzard (Busardo Ratonero / Buteo buteo) and
Iberian Magpie (Rabilargo / Cyanopica cooki)

On the far side of the Railway bridge I continued on along the river adding
Bluethroat (Ruiseñor Pechiazul / Luscinia svecica), Water Pipit (Bisbita Alpino / Anthus spinoletta), Spanish Sparrow (Gorrión Moruno / Passer hispaniolensis), Redwing (Zorzal Alirrojo / Turdus illacus),
Hoopoe (Abubilla / Upupa epops) and Grey Wagtail (Lavandera Cascadena / Motacilla cinerea). The full list is on the Ebird List at top of the page. |
