Humphreston Farm area, Albrighton, Shropshire.

A shorter walk today due to a bad back.

Blotch-winged Hoverfly (Leucozona lucorum).
I missed my walk yesterday as I had tweeked my back so I rested it but today it helped to free it up with a walk.
I crossed the A41 and along the first stretch I checked the Raspberry (Rubus occidentalis) where I saw the first of several Common Orange-tips (Anthocharis cardamines) and several other insects which still need naming.
Common Orange-tip (Anthocharis cardamines).
As I walked I could hear several Skylarks (Alondra Común / Alauda arvensis) singing over head, Blackcap (Curruca Capirotada / Sylvia atricailla), Common Chiffchaff (Mosquitero Común / Phylloscopus collybita) and Common Chaffinch (Pinzón Vulgar / Fringilla coelebs) all singing from the English Oaks (Quercus robur) along the road.

On the hedgerows i saw more insects and down by the stream Common Magpie (Urraca / Pica pica), Goldfinch (Jilguero / Carduelis carduelis), Great Tit (Carbonera Común / Parus major), Mistle (Zorzal Charlo / Turdus viscivorus) and Song Thrush (Zorzal Común / Turdus philomelos), Grey Wagtail (Lavandera Cascadena / Motacilla cinerea) and Rook (Graja /  Corvus frugilegus) fly overs.
??????????
I retraced my steps to the far seeing a pair of Long-tailed Tits (Mito / Aegithalos caudatus) which flew down into a tangle of Brambles right next to me and feed the young in the nest which I could just make out through the tangle of thorns. Once the birds had left I moved away and continued on the woods adding a nice male Pied Wagtail (Lavandera Blanca / Montacilla yarrellii).
Spotted Cranefly (Nephrotoma appendiculata).
Around at the woods I had views of Green-veined White (Pieris napi), Speckled Wood (Pararge aegeria), a female Common Orange-tips, Yellow Dung Fly (Scathophaga stercoraria), Annual Mercury (Mercurialis annua), Cuckoo Flower (Cardamine pratensis), Garlic Mustard (Alliaria petiolata), Lesser Stitchwort (Stellaria graminea), Shepherds Purse (Capsella bursa-pastoris) and Wild Garlic (Allium ursinum).
Tapered Drone Fly (Eristalis pertinax).
I walked back towards the farm and stood in another of the gateways where I watched the wood and the family of Ravens (Cuervo / Corvus corax) which were up stretching their wings, I had thought that there were 2 adults and 2 fledglings but infact there were 3 youngsters.
Tapered Drone Fly (Eristalis pertinax).
