On my way down to Huétor I made a quick stop on the banks of the Arroyo and scanned river and the fields on the far bank. On the river there was a pair of Mallard (Anade Azulón / Anas platyrhynchos), Little Ringed Plover (Chorlitejo Chico / Charadrius dubius), Common Sandpiper (Andarrios Chico / Actitis hypoleucos), Cetti's Warbler (Ruisenor Bastardo / Cettia cetti) and Yellow Wagtail (Lavandera Boyera / Motacilla flava iberiae).

On the fields there were at least 4
Montagu's Harriers (Aguilucho Cenizo / Circus pygargus),
Barn Swallow (Golondrina Común / Hirundo rustica),
Zitting Cisticola (Buitrón / Cisticola juncidis),
Spotless Starling (Estornino Negro / Sturnus unicolor) and several
Corn Bunting (Triguero / Emberiza calandra).
