After finishing at Caleta I went for a walk along the Ro Velez but in the heat things were very quiet and I only managed to find Barn Swallow (Golondrina Común / Hirundo rustica), Spotless Starling (Estornino Negro / Sturnus unicolor), Spanish (Yellow) Wagtail (Lavandera Boyera / Motacilla flava iberiae), Collared Dove (Tórtola Turca / Streptopelia decaocto), Zitting Cisticola (Buitrón / Cisticola juncidis), Spotted Flycatcher (Papamoscas Gris / Muscicapa striata), Serin (Verdecillo / Serinus serinus), Common Moorhen (Gallineta Común / Gallinulas chloropus), Common Sandpiper (Andarrios Chico / Actitis hypoleucos), Common Waxbill (Estrilda Ondulada / Estrilda astrild), Western Cattle (Garcilla Bueyera / Bubulcus ibis) and Little Egrets (Garceta Común / Egreta garzetta), Grey Heron (Garza Real / Ardea cinerea), Cetti's (Ruisenor Bastardo / Cettia cetti) and Reed Warbler (Carricero Común / Acrocephalus scrpaceus), Mallard (Anade Azulón / Anas platyrhynchos) and Greenfinch (Verderón Común / Carduelis chloris) but little else right up until the last minute when I was walking back to the car when 4 Caspian Terns (Pagaza Piquiroja / Hydroprone caspia) flew in and started to feed up and down the river. I watched them for some time before they moved off along the coast and then I went to meet Jayne and Barb in Torre before we went for lunch in Salabrena and an afternoon on the beach.
