A walk around my old UK local Patch.

Treecreeper (Agateador Norteño / Certhia familiaris).

I had a short walk from my Mom's house down to Donington Pool and the nearby meadows which apart from a newish path that was laid through the meadow it had not changed very much. On the pool there was very little except for a few domestic ducks, a few Mallards (Anade Azulón / Anas platyrhynchos), a Common Moorhen (Gallineta Común / Gallinulas chloropus) and a couple of Barn Swallows (Golondrina Común / Hirundo rustica).

I walked along the track up towards the church and then out on to the meadow and down to the pool near St Cuthberts Well where I picked up a Common Chiffchaff (Mosquitero Común / Phylloscopus collybita) which was singing loudly from the top of nearby Alder trees, Robin (Petirrojo Europeo / Erithacus rubecula), Woodpigeon (Paloma Torcaz / Columba palumbus), Wren (Chochin / Troglodytes troglodytes) and a screeching Jay (Arrendajo / Garrulus glandarius). 

Blackbird (Mirlo Común / Turdus merula).

I walked along the track to the first bridge where I watched a nice Treecreeper (Agateador Norteño / Certhia familiaris) singing from another Alder tree as well as Great Spotted Woodpecker (Pico Picapinos / Dendrocopos major), Great (Carbonera Común / Parus major), Coal (Carbonero Garrapinos / Parus ater) and Blue Tits (Herrerillo Común / Parus caeruleus), Blackbird (Mirlo Común / Turdus merula), Blackcap (Curruca Capirotada / Sylvia atricailla), Common Chaffinch (Pinzón Vulgar / Fringilla coelebs), Common Starling (Estornino Pinto / Sturnus vulgaris) and Goldcrest (Reyezuelo Sencillo / Regulus regulus).

Again I continued on and came to the second bridge and added Grey Wagtail (Lavandera Cascadena / Motacilla cinerea), House Sparrow (Gorrión Común / Passer domesticus), Jackdaw (Grajilla / Corvus monedula), Carrion Crow (Corneja Negra / Corvus corone), Common Buzzard (Busardo Ratonero / Buteo buteo), Collared Dove (Tórtola Turca / Streptopelia decaocto), Mistle Thrush (Zorzal Charlo / Turdus viscivorus) and a male Yellowhammer (Escribano Cerillo / Emberiza citrinella).

I left the meadow and spent a nice hour or so with Brenda and Keith (sister and brother in-law) before heading back to Moms where I got some shots of the local Blackbirds and Woodpigeons.
