Hacho, Loja, Granada Province.

A hour with the camera amongst the Orchids on Hacho.

Ophrys dyris.
Ophrys dyris.
Jayne and I headed up to the track which skirts the Northern flank of Hacho and parked before walking up the track towards the summit but only went a short way before I started photographing the many Orchids on the site.
Ophrys dyris.
Species seen included Giant Orchid (Himantoglossum robertiana), Fan-lipped Orchid (Anacamptis collina) including a single spike of the var flavescens, Ophrys dyris which was a new species for me at the site, Ophrys forestieri, Sawfly Orchid (Flor de avispa / Ophrys tenthredinifera subsp tenthredinifera) and Southern Early Purple Orchid (Chupaeros Androrchis Olbiensis).
Giant Orchid (Himantoglossum robertiana).
On the main track I also had a rather tatty Large Tortoiseshell (Nymphalis polychlorus) which played hard to get a shot of but I managed one.
