Loja to near Huétor Tajar, Granada Province, Spain.

Debbie and Ian arrive from Guacin.
(Day One of Granada Part of the trip).

During the afternoon I collected Debbie and Ian from Loja train station where they arrived after spending quite a while down in the Cacares area of Malaga Province with our friends Penny and John. On the drive up to the house we had good views of a Hoopoe (Abubilla / Upupa epops) sat on a wire fence,
Ian and I stayed in the car while Debbie tried to get a shot of the bird but it few off, she did however see a male Cirl Bunting (Escribano Soteno / Emberiza cirlus). On the drive up to the house we also added several Iberian  Magpie (Rabilargo / Cyanopica cooki) to their life lists, we also saw more Magpies while we had a meal which Jayne prepared for us.
To finish off we heard but did not see Red-necked Nightjar (Chotacabras Cuellirrojo / Caprimulgus ruficollis). Deb and Ian were visiting from Meadow in South Australia, they had been in Spain for a while and had seen quite a few species, so the next seven days were to be spent searching for Some interesting Target and gap in list Species.
