After a long break, I decided after a prompt from Penny Hale down in Casares to dig the Moth trap out and give it a go. On the night of the
26th / 27th I ran a 125MV light which turned out to be a total waste of time, so on the night of 28th / 29th I ran the small 15W Actinic trap
that I also have.
 |
| Eastern Nycteoline (Nycteola asiatica). |
The results were not fantastic but much better than the last attempt. The most common species by far was the
Small Marbled (Eublemma parva) with around 70 being in or around the trap, next came 6690a
Palpita vitrealis with around 25 insects present and 5624
Pyralis obsoletalis with around 30.
